The course curriculum in the Real Estate Development Concentration is designed to provide graduate students with an integrated and rigorous program of architecture studios drawn from a range of current practice focused projects. This introduces the student to the complexity of architectural design, namely residential, commercial, joint development, as well as mixed use. Students are challenged to design sustainable buildings and communities of the future. Joint studios are offered to enhance emerging technology and media skills with real estate development projects. Lecture courses emphasize design strategies and solutions through an overview of the real estate development process, financial feasibility analysis, site and market analysis, architectural contract law, construction management and project financing. Course schedules with evening classes facilitate many working students to participate in the concentration, thus quickly intertwining the academic study of architecture with the practice of architecture. Studio juries are comprised of leading practitioners with current award winning real estate development projects throughout the region and internationally.

Courses in the Real Estate Development Concentration are offered each semester on a rotating basis both Fall and Spring. Students begin with a fundamentals class and then add to their knowledge base through additional required and elective classes.
