At the School of Architecture and Planning, students and faculty alike are a part of Catholic University’s 100-year history of exploring how design, technology, and processes affect the planned and built environment.
In our research labs, students learn to apply design techniques using the latest technologies at their fingertips. In our classrooms, professors seek to imbue students with a high-quality sense of design, paying special attention to strategic purpose and sensitivity to historical, physical, environmental, cultural, and spiritual contexts. Throughout their time with us, students are educated in the practical applications of the aforementioned principles, and have already won 10 major “Spirit of Place” design awards, illustrating how students can make a difference outside of the classroom.
