The School of Architecture and Planning is proud to present "The Future of Technology in Practice" as part of the 2020 Spring Lecture Series. We welcome Phil Read, CEO of Read | Thomas, and Phil Schippers, AIA.

In less than a generation, advances in design technologies such a BIM, Real-Time, VR, AI and environmental performance analysis are impacting the architectural profession in profound and historic ways. This presentation will discuss the implications of these technologies and how to prepare yourself and your practice for the future.

    Phil Read

    Phil is the co-founder of Read | Thomas - a global BIM/VDC consulting company focused on supporting building designers, engineers, builders and owners through cross-discipline technology integration and best practices. He has nearly thirty years experience in Architecture and Engineering including two decades implementing Autodesk Revit.

    John Schippers

    John leads teams in the use of digital tools as they relate to BIM, parametric design, visualization and prototyping. He's a licensed architect and holds a Masters in Architecture from Virginia Tech. He spent nearly a decade teaching beginner and advanced Revit courses at the VT WAAC.
