The Stanley Sketchbook Award was given to Adriane Thompson, M.Arch and Jessica Bruno M.Arch who tied for first place. 

The Binkley IBDS Award of Excellence in Environment Design was given to the team of Kat Kaderabeck B.S.Arch and Julianna Keagle M.Arch 

The ARCC King Medal for Excellence in Architectural and Environmental Design Research was given to Evan Dziedzic M.Arch, M.S. Net Zero Design 

The IBDS Excellence in Technical Design was given to the team of Vincente Johnson B.S.Arch and Elizabeth McCarthy M.Arch   

The Benjamin T. Rome Academic Achievement Award was given to Katherine Janik B.S.Arch

The Walton Distinguished Thesis Award was given to Rebecca Ambouroue M.Arch

The Classical Concentration Director’s Award was given to Jacob Chase M.Arch 

The Excellence in Urban Design Award was given to Rocio Duarte M.Arch

The Technology and Media in Architecture and Interiors Award was given to John Jones M.Arch

The Environmental Literacy Award was given to Evan Dzeidic M.Arch, M.S. Net Zero Design

The Cardinal O’Boyle Award was given to the team of Michael Nio and Matthew Zemis

First Place Super Jury was John Jones M.Arch

The Golden Pencil Award was given to James Leon, M.Arch

Sebastian VanDerbeck received the David M. Schwarz Travelling Fellowship Award. He plans to use this opportunity to study the great concert halls of Europe both in respect to their acoustical qualities as well as their urban and architectural successes. These include:

  • London, England - Royal Albert Hall
  • Paris, France - Palais Garnier, Quai D’ Orsay (urban design study) 
  • Basel, Switzerland - Stadtcasino Concert Hall
  • Amsterdam, Netherlands – Concertgebouw
  • Berlin, Germany - Konzerthaus 
  • Vienna, Austria - Wiener Musikverein, Wiener Staastopper (Vienna State Opera House), The Volkstheatre Burgtheatre
  • Prague, Czechia National Theatre 
  • Milan, Italy Teatro alla Scala

He is expected to complete his graduate studies in Spring, 2024.

Kat Kaderabek B.S. Arch has been awarded a University Honors Graduate Fellowship, a full tuition scholarship and living stipend.  She is the first fellow representing the School of Architecture and she plans to earn a Master of Architecture and a Master of Science in Net Zero Design. 

Commencement Speakers

Three outstanding graduates were chosen by their peers to speak at the 2022 School of Architecture and Planning Commencement. Julia Schlottmann B.S.Arch B.S. Civil Engineering represented the undergraduates while Megan Davey M.Arch and Evan Dziedzic M.Arch and M.S. Net Zero Design represented the graduate students.
