Amidst the pandemic, one of our own students, Brianna Hartmann, is using her green thumb to start a community garden. The Justice Garden Initiative fosters CUA's very own mission--stewardship and urbanism--to serve others in our community. This community garden will be apart of the So Others Might Eat family housing program located at the Zagami House in Ward 8. The garden itself will give 12 families the opportunity to gain access to healthy and sustainable meals. Hartmann's goal is to provide food security to the community, which will lay the foundations for food sovereignty. Ultimately, she hopes that this garden will provide others with a place for healing and nurturing.
